That was... wow. Everything I could have hoped for and more besides! I don't think I can capture it in words.
Seamus and Therion began the ceremony in song, ending in a chilling duet retelling the events of ancient Agondre and the last year, their two melodies intertwined -- Therion singing the older tale and Seamus the newer. I've heard stunning music from both of them before, and it was all as if done by apprentices compared to this. Truly a master work.
They made sure to sing about everyone, not just our inner group. I was watching the assembled people from behind a curtain while this was happening (before the actual coronation), and it was neat to watch people named in the song beaming. And everyone was there -- even the salamanders, though they could stay only briefly.
All of my family was there, of course, and they were all grinning non-stop. I thought I saw Dalia and her family in the crowd, but I might have been mistaken.
At one point we had all of the dukes on the platform, and Turok with all of the Claws, and Lady Liandra and Kyle, along with Hrolf and me, and I felt a sense of "no one dares challenge this" from the crowd. And also the sense that no one wanted to.
There was a strong sense of peace and clean-ness and contentment over everyone; I think it was coming through me but not from me. Agondre couldn't be there physically, but he was there nonetheless.
Later, after all the ceremony and celebration, I went to Agondre's chamber and found him beaming, too. That confirmed the source of the feeling I'd gotten earlier -- not that I needed confirmation.
It's the beginning of a new reign, in a new age of Agondre. How exciting!
