So (to enumerate all the possibilities, though I don't believe all are valid), either my posts are special, or your posts are special, or your status is special (maybe you're the "best friend" and can thus edit), or LJ is behaving oddly and all of this will be different tomorrow.
ralph_dnd is a separate ID and this is its journal; to the system that should be identical to it being a human. Unless you are somehow simultaneously logged in as both you and it? I didn't think of that. Do the browser cookies permit that kind of thing?
