Beginning the evening:
You've been travelling down into the gorge at the northern border of Draneken.
The gorge is narrow and steep enough that it has its own weather: as you've been climbing down, the snow has stopped, and the air is getting warmer and humid. The other side of the gorge is often obscured by mists.
The gorge also has its own life. There are twisted and distorted plants that even Liandra finds exotic, and unusual calls from large animals. In the night, the noises were louder and more violent.
On seeing the bridge:
The bridge across the gorge is overgrown with lush vines and vegetation that nearly conceal the wood. Beneath the green leaves, the bridge itself is built of stout timbers, weathered by years of exposure.
The bridge is the width of a cart, if the vegetation were cleared away, and about fifty feet long.
Green-brown water flows sixty feet below the surface.
